I stopped watching God on TV years ago. I don't think it ever helped me, even living in Spain with no fellowship or church and the situation is still the same after 8 years. God has sent me people through skype to fellowship with and I am learning to go to Him alone with no props.He sent me a man of God from another country who prays for me and helps me and has many words for me. If all Christians were truly filled with the Holy Spirit and were doing God's true work there would be no need for these channels. A television cannot reach out and heal your affliction can it?

God bless you Gordon excercizing your God given right to freedom of speech.
Howard Condor regularly asks people to give thier comments whether in agreement with his views or not.
God bless Howard and revelation TV which is a lifeline to so many of us who are unable to get to church.
God bless you Gordon for being couragous and faithful to speak out and encourage all christians to make infomed choices about what they are listening to and the messages they are allowing into there homes.
Jesus was once approached by his appostles and told of a man who was preaching and performing miricles in Jesus name who was not of their number, they wanted to stop him however, Jesus told them to let him be as those who are for us are not against us.
In another reference the bible says if we don't preach the good news God could make the very stones speak.
Good for you Gordon for the bible says we must disern the spirits as to whether they be of Christ and Anti-Christ. There are too many christians willing to accept anything under the banner of the gospel The punishment for false prophets is the lake of fire let them all beware God's wrath.
God bless you for speaking out as you feel led. God's children will not faint from their God given task to preach the gospel because of a few words of warning, rather they would rejoice that they have been found worthy to be righteous under scurutiny. Hi Gordon.

I stumbled on your blog whilst trying to get the REVTv website from Google. I do admire your courage and persistence in the face of opposition! Yes, I do agree that everyone is entitled to their opinion – even we Christians! It breaks my heart to see so much mind-sense-suppression in the church especially when it has to do with our leaders etc.

HOWEVER, in my own opinion, there is always a right way to do things. I am sure that in hindsight, you may have gone about this differently, applying Godly wisdom, perhaps..

I believe that you could have sent them a letter directly which would HELP and not discourage them. Because, you posted it for all to see, it came across as vindictive, although, your intentions may have been entirely innocent. Your blog seemed to have brought such opposition, discord and maybe even sin in the whole palaver. No doubt it was the 'talk of the town' and for the wrong reasons. And no doubt, we became laughing stock (yet again) to the unbelievers.

And with such a title as, 'Why I decided to stop supporting Revelation TV' it was bound to be received the wrong way from the minute it was posted on the internet. Your reasons in turn (which may or may not have been valid) were deviated from completely and you ended up with the wrong effect.

So, whilst I agree about airing our opinions, I believe that we need to apply Godly maturity and sense. This may sound like a cliché, but, it is true that in all that we do, we must put God first. We must pray as the famous Prov 3 says:
5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. [a]
7 Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil.
8 This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones.

I've just come across this blog [because, as someone said, it's near the top of Google. The thing that interests me about the responses criticising Gordon's opinions is that there isn't a single comment [I don't think] on any of the specific points he raises.

For example, Mike Glynn says, 'Reasons given all nonsense' - which doesn't say anything constructive nor help in any way.

Good luck to Howard and Lesley - I'm sure they appreciate what Gordon has said and will have taken his comments on board as appropriate.

The move to Spain is interesting. Will they be living in Barbara's development complex I wonder?

I came across you blog Searching about revelation TV on many occasion I have been watching both "Genesis" and "Revelation" TVs
Yesterday I was watching "unlock the old testament" with David Lawson and as I have extensively study Islam Judaism and Christianity I couldn't prevent myself to think that the negativity and perspectives coming across there reminded me more of Judaism (and Islam to a certain extend)than Christianity this what prompted my research about who are the people behind Revelation...there is to my opinion some political middle- eastern agenda. and while I have found the Bible comments fascinating and logical in a way they lack the kindnest and hope one would expect from a Christian point of view.
I am just voicing my opinion as I am now in a moment of my life trying to work out how to get closer to God.

Please do yourself and the christian community that you seem to be a part of a favour and fold up this blog. Your opinions are not bringing glory to God, only attention to yourself. An attribute which is clearly unsupported by scripture. You appear to be an intellectual person and so I therefore ask that you use your God given intellect and business acumen to promote JESUS and His cause on the internet. You gave towards a cause that you once believed in (we got the point!), God sees and will reward you for your sacrifice. Please let others choose to support or not to support ministries based on what God is telling them today and not biased information posted so so long ago. You, of all people, know that your blog (the only one that I have seen as a shrouded complaint)is placed quite closely to the internet reference of Revelation TV under a google search. Do you really know who you are influencing globally.??? Please do not end up being a stumbling block to the non-believer. It's a shame that you have attracted (and seem to be relishing) this amount of attention, because of an "opinion". Do the mature, wise and Godly thing - write Howard, Lesley and their Team, tell them what you believe God might be telling them to do, pray that they will receive your revelation graciously and leave them to the Lord. If you believe that money is being misappropriately handled, you know who to inform.
I personally have not been in the position to support the ministry finacially but I do support them with prayer and encouragement. There is always room for one more person to do this.

I think your opinion is just that..yours, and you are entitled to express it, like the others and myself who have responded to this our opinions are mere collections of thoughts..each have equal right to be expressed and equal validity.

Secondly, I think you have a point, I used to watch 'The God' package, including Revelation TV.. every programme, point of view, interpretation of scripture, and doctrine that was said.. such was the hunger I had a few years back, but over a period of time, God, I believe began to reveal discrepancies is what was taught, spoken, or done. Many of the American televangelists who began so well I believe, began to do downhill, the continued asking for funds seemed to be the topic of the day, and so on. I often thought and said who are these people accountable to, many told me they are accountable to God, which in part is true, but these men/women are servants of the Lord to the body of Christ as a whole, and to the unsaved a light in the darkness. As such they then are accountable to us. "No servant being above his Master". God views us with equality.
I think there ought to be more open voiced challenges to those who are in leadership, those who teach, prophesy or minister. Too many who lead, hold far too much sway over their 'flock' and the flock itself has become like little children, solely dependent on their leaders, unable to feed themselves, and being fed all manner of false doctrine, scripture out of contexts as a way of keeping the 'flock' under control, always learning, but never maturing.
Maturity allows for questions, queries and all leaders no matter who they are, should be challenged on what they teach, or do... Mr Reid being the most recent revelation of one who has not be held accountable.

My question to those who will read this is..( if I may be so bold)

1.)How do you know what your pastor/leader/minister/vicar is teaching you every meeting, is the way God intended it to be taught?

2.) If you found something your leader taught to be in error, what then do you do about it?

Gordon, I think it is admirable that your Blog as attracted so much attention, in that so many are so easily fooled by complacency that leaders can do no wrong, and even if they do, they can remain leaders..

Apostle PAUL, was not so calm, just read how he dealt with erroneous behaviour/doctrine. And Jesus himself withstood the leaders of the time, questioned their ability to lead the people.. HE is our example.
Question more, challenge using the word, and the truth will be revealed.

The argument about not touching the Lord's anointed is exactly what allowed Michael Reid to get away with so much for so long.

I have an opinion and I am expressing it.

You do not have to agree with me at all, and I don't expect you to.

I don't actually think my opinion on this issue is particularly important, but I think that my right to express that opinion and the right to express myself freely without condemnation is important.

I worry that if Christians were in power in this country we would end up with the oppression of dissent like they have in China, along with censorship of critical opinions about the leadership.

Galatians 5:19-25

The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.

The answer is that you don't.

I was one of the people who was very critical about Michael Reid and my position on that has been totally vindicated even though people said exactly the same things to me about him as you are saying about RTV.

In any case, why is it wrong to express an opinion. Just because you don't agreee with me does not mean that my opinion is invalid.

It is very sad to read something like this from a fellow christian. What I will like to clarify from you is that, is it because you are supporting revelation financially that gave you the authority to talk to them like that? I do not know whether you have listened to how God started revelation through Howard and Lesley? They even had to sell their own property to get it started. For any visible and growing organisation, there would be a time to change for the best, they are not obliged to show the same programme or to tailor their programmes to everyones individual acceptance. All the successful organisations do some changes and restructuring and no employee has the right to question them. If you are so much concerned with what is happening and you believe you have good suggestions to offer, Howard and Lesley are humble enough and will accommadate your suggestions if you communicate your good ideas or your opinion in a better way and via a better channel. What you did was an attack against this man and woman of God and the whole team. You can stop your financial help without hindering the work of God in their hands. These people are doing their very best, they sacrifice their time and talents to the glory of God. I sincerely pray that God will sustain them at this time of persecution. I sincerely pray for you brother that the Holy Spirit will reveal to you the impact of what you did and grant you the ability to apologise on line to Howard and Lesley. Our responsibility as christians is to continue to support one another in prayer and supplication even when we beleive things are not in accordance to our expectation. I just found your blog , and I find your comments very interesting as a regular viwer of Revelation TV . I don't know if you still watch the live programmes in the morning , but I still try to view the morning paper reviews when I can . YES I agree with your comment on the negativity that is frequently portrayed , and I often try and send an email to Lesley and Howard, to try and bring a little positive aspect to the days news !!

Hi Gordon,

I think the reason this Blogg is getting so much attention 'over a year later' is because it's at the top of Google for the reason. People are finding out Revelation are thinking of moving to Spain and so are trying to find out more details about it only to find 'Why I decided to stop supporting Revelation TV'.

There are SO MANY Ex Patts in Spain now its un-believable, I'm moving out there myself in June and I work in Production which is why I have 'Googled' in the first place, to see if there might be any work oppotunities.

I think there is nothing wrong at all in viewing and voicing your opinions, but cant we look on the positive side of their move to Spain? Especially as the 'Off Com' rules and regs ARE very strict in the UK. In the UK we're not allowed to say 'Jesus is God' for example.

What good comes out of all this bickering between Christians, surely we should be supporting each other?

If I was not a Christian and stumbled on this I would LAUGH at how you bicker between yourselvs, but I am, so find it very sad.

We all have our different opinions and there is nothing wrong with that, but why post it on the internet? Surely it only creates animosity between Brothers and Sisters.. and is that what we are called to go out and do...?
