Are creationists guilty of blasphemy of the Holy Spirit?

This thought occurs to me:

Most creationists believe that Jesus is the agent of creation in Genesis chapter 1, because of John 1:3:
"All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made."
Some creationists believe that the theory of evolution is a work of the devil. See this Google search for some examples.

This means that if they are wrong about creationism and God (Jesus) used evolution as a means of creation then they are describing his works works as the work of the devil. This is blasphemy of the holy spirit, which according to most Christian fundamentalists is the unforgivable sin.

Interesting.

  1. The writer David Justice delightfully explores this enigmatic concept in his book Murphy on the Mount. A private investigator just happens to read about this concept of the "Unpardonable Sin" and the "Blasphemy Against the Holy Spirit". He deals with growing angst over the issue as he also has to solve a mystery. Here's my discussion of the book:

  2. I'm afraid its also the breaking of the Ninth Commandment that Creationists are guilty of.

Here in Ireland some churches live in fear of being 'exposed' because they vary from YECism, and yet shouldn't people be distancing themselves from that which is patently false?!

  3. I would like to share a thought.
From my basic understanding of genetics I will agree there are a few grey areas in the evolutionary scheme of things. The fusion of chromosome-2 and the long gaps of switched off genes (introns) is still a mystery.

In the vernacular, ‘theory’ often refers to conjectures or unproven assumptions. However in science ‘theory’ usually means a plausible or scientifically accepted principles. This theory is usually formulated from facts. Theory is structures that explain, interpret these facts. Thus evolution is a theory formulated out of facts. As Stephen Gould once said, “facts do not go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's, but apples did not suspend themselves in mid-air, pending the outcome. And humans evolved whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered.”

    On the other hand, Jesus said (in numerous passages), if you have faith you will be able to;

    - Heal the sick
(I am not referring to the perceived ‘healings’ as being divine at the expense of medical science)
    -Raise the dead
-Drink any deadly thing without harm to themselves
    -Speak in tongues
    -Pick-up serpents [without harm]
    -Cleanse lepers
    -Cast out demons

I have been told that the Bible is not a literary embellishment. It is a Book that contains only literal facts. So based on this assumption scripture has in no uncertain terms stated the above miracles to be the WORD OF GOD and the truth. To date, with millions of faithful adherents praying in unison I have yet to see someone been raised from the dead. If these supernatural abilities (raising the dead in particular) can be reproduced today as it happened 2 000 years ago and you can provide the relevant proof and evidence under test conditions and in the absence of the help of medical science; then I will share my sentiments with firefighter Bruce Monson. He stated that if these miracles can be proven beyond a shadow of doubt then I promise I will devote my life to spreading His Word to all the world, especially to atheists, agnostics & people professing belief in all the thousands of other "false" religions extant in the world. I will give ALL of my possessions and money to the poor as He commanded (Luke 18:22); I will hate my father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, even my own life in accordance with His requirements to be his disciple (Luke 14:26); I will do all of these things and be a suffering servant for Jesus. I will make it my purpose in life to be His greatest disciple!

I’d like to add to this promise; I will obey and carry out God’s command in Lev. 24:13-16 "The Lord said to Moses" that "Anyone who blasphemes the name of the Lord must be put to death"

  4. “Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come. ” (Bible, New Testament, Matthew 12:32)

There was the First Aion Age when Jesus was walking the Earth and arguing with the Pharisees, which corresponds to when Jesus said “This age” (Bible, New Testament, Matthew 12:31-32)

There was the Second Aion Age when Jesus was dead in the tomb, which corresponds to when Jesus said “the age to come” (Bible, New Testament, Matthew 12:31-32)

There is a the Third Aion Age when Jesus was resurrected alive again and also is the Age when Blasphemy Against the Holy Spirit is forgiven and is also the age that we are in now. This age goes on for eternity.

Thus ALL GO TO HEAVEN and nothing changed about grace.
Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is the term word for unbelief.
ALL GO TO HEAVEN BECAUSE unbelief is forgiven.

A Time in the Life of Jesus is an Age because Jesus is God and is that important.

“Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come. ” (Bible, New Testament, Matthew 12:32)

Matthew 12:32 is when Jesus canceled the Old Code of the law found in Matthew 12:31.

“And so I tell you, every kind of sin and slander can be forgiven, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.” (Bible, New Testament, Matthew 12:31)

“Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come. ” (Bible, New Testament, Matthew 12:32)

In the Third age blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is forgiven along with all sins.

Jesus died for You You will go to heaven.
